to 60's/70's Progressive Radio Project
March 2007 will mark the fortieth anniversary of underground radio's
origins in the San Francisco Bay Area, with the transition of KMPX to
progressive rock under the direction of "Big Daddy" Tom Donahue
(following a gentle shove by Larry Miller earlier in 1967). Donahue
would go on to revolutionize the format at KSAN ("The Jive 95").

The Bay Area Radio Museum is seeking copies of any airchecks or other
memorabilia that may be in private collections for inclusion in a
public exhibit on the history of underground radio in the metropolitan
San Francisco Bay Area. Among the stations we hope to include are KMPX,
KSAN, KOME, KSJO and KTIM. Long-form airchecks showing the diversity of
music played on the stations would be especially welcomed.

You may contact the museum through its website at
http://www.BayAreaRadio.org (click on the "contact" link on the bottom
of any page on the website.)

With thanks,
