Volume IV, Issue #39 Monday, March 03, 2008
Welcome to another edition of Progressive News Digest, still rolling along in
its fourth year (just over the halfway-mark of Year 4, BTW, and with rare
exception this has appeared every week at some point).
I apologize for there being no issue last week; still getting adjusted to the
new VERY BUSY schedule. As a result, this issue (and subsequent ones
for at least another several weeks) will be in "web-only" format.
Meanwhile, If the impulse strikes you, we could sure use donations, both here
and at the parent-site:

(Dec. 23st marked our FIFTH year overall in operation, without missing a SINGLE
(non-holiday) day in that span!).
We appreciate your support, in any amount … but subscribing contributors really
do it for us. To support RRND/FND (and by extension, PND) with regular
monthly payment of $2.50, $5.00, $10 or $20, point your browser at:

I will make an attempt to add a summary of the highlights. This week we have:
News: Congressional incumbency sinecures no longer guaranteed; California
gay-marriage issue now in court; Prop 2-1/2 overrides growing in Massachusetts;
Arizona's border fence has serious flaws; Tennessee's prospects for private toll
roads; a study linking childhood spanking with a liking for sexual kinkiness ... and
a lot more where that came from.
Commentaries: Nothing from your editor yet, though I hope to have time soon.
Instead, there is Ken Brociner with an analysis of "liberal " & "progressive"; Heath
Haussamen on Nader's role in the evolution of the Democratic Party; Susan
Estrich on Hillary's mistakes; Joan Vennochi on Michelle Obama ... and many
more ...
Here you go ... enjoy and see you next week! Check the site for constant
updates each day:
