More Blue is a youth-powered movement devoted to strengthening democracy by giving young organizers resources to build at home and seats at the table to fight in Congress. We invest in high capacity youth-led organizers working to increase voter turnout in the congressional districts they call home. And together, we wield our power to build a responsive democracy where meaningfully consulting the voices of young people is the norm, not the exception.

At our core, we know young people have the tools and expertise necessary to win big for democracy. More Blue is here to ensure that they also have the resources. Our movement works hard so youth organizers can work harder and smarter in the places they call home within this moment. In order to make this a reality, we are hiring a part-time Internship Director.

As our Internship Director, you will be responsible for leading More Blue’s campaign internship program and help with the overall operations of our PAC. More specifically, this role will be entrusted to liaise between various stakeholder groups, manage More Blue’s online presence, and work alongside the Program Officer to develop and execute robust online trainings and onboarding programs for incoming campaign interns. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working directly with campaign interns to troubleshoot, offer support, and discuss future plans to continue this work in their respective communities.

  • Hosting regularly scheduled office hours for campaign interns.

  • Devising and executing regular, synchronous, Zoom-based training sessions and materials that include presentations from topical experts.

  • Developing and executing strategies to record and monitor relevant metrics, including measures of accountability.

  • Co-leading the development and execution of social media plans for Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok alongside social media interns.

  • Spearheading recruitment processes, including developing partnership relationships, for the campaign internship program.

  • Retrieving contact information for congressional campaigns within our six battleground states.

  • Mentoring a small group of social media and operation interns during the academic year.

  • Assisting, as needed, the Program Officer and other staff members with various logistical efforts and overall strategy mapping for More Blue.

This position is fully remote. This is also a paid, part-time position (20 hours/week) designed for a recent graduate. We actively encourage all individuals to apply, even if you do not meet all of the recommendations below for requisite experiences:

  • Designing and executing online training and curricula for young people, preferably in the political realm.

  • Mentorship experience of young leaders in civic engagement spaces.

  • Distilling complex and nuanced information into clear and succinct findings.

  • A strong ability, evidenced by previous experiences, to forge energy-filled communities within online spaces.

  • A savvy for developing engaging social media content for young activists on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.

  • Building communities between young people, adult allies, and other stakeholders rooted in joy.

  • Ability to design and facilitate engaging group discussions that allow every individual to meaningfully contribute on their own terms.

  • Previous experience with political campaigns, youth-led non-profits, or other civic engagement organizations is highly valued.

In addition to the skills and experiences listed above, More Blue deeply values working with individuals who are dedicated to joyful collaboration, independently motivated by the promise of empowering young people across the country, and are endlessly curious about the types of questions we’re asking as a team. Proactivity is essential, as is a willingness to embrace continual evolvement as we continue to build our programming and team.

All interested applicants should follow the link below and be prepared to submit the following materials:

  • A 1-2 page resume.

  • One 3-5 page writing sample showcasing your ability to synthesize findings in an accessible and compelling manner.

  • In lieu of a cover letter, please respond to the following question: “Please share how pieces of your story, whether they be personal or professional, have shaped your perspective on the challenges currently facing our constitutional democracy as well as the potential we have as a collective to preserve and strengthen it.”
