More Blue is a youth-powered movement devoted to strengthening democracy by giving young organizers resources to build at home and seats at the table to fight in Congress. We invest in high capacity youth-led organizers working to increase voter turnout in the congressional districts they call home. And together, we wield our power to build a responsive democracy where meaningfully consulting the voices of young people is the norm, not the exception.

At our core, we know young people have the tools and expertise necessary to win big for democracy. More Blue is here to ensure that they also have the resources. Our movement works hard so youth organizers can work harder and smarter in the places they call home within this moment. In order to make this a reality, we are hiring a part-time Advocacy Associate.

As our Advocacy Associate, you will work directly alongside More Blue’s Advocacy & Policy Consultant. This position can expect to significantly contribute to policy research assignments, as needed, and contribute in the following ways: compiling memos on specific federal policies, acquiring qualitative and quantitative data, synthesizing findings into effective advocacy materials, creating systems to track correspondence between legislators, and identifying essential stakeholders on the Hill and federal agencies.

This position is fully remote. This is a part-time position (10 hours/week) designed for an individual currently enrolled in high school or an undergraduate program. Although we are unable to pay associates at this time, we are dedicated to working alongside our applicant to ensure course credit is received, if desired. We actively encourage all individuals to apply, even if you do not meet all of the recommendations below for requisite experiences:

  • Significant academic and non-academic research experience using qualitative methods.

  • Ability to distill complex and nuanced information into clear and succinct findings.

  • Strong non-academic writing background with an ability to creatively convey information to various stakeholder groups.

  • Significant experience in coalition building alongside young people, adult allies, and other stakeholders.

  • Previous Hill and/or state legislative experience is a plus, but not required.

All interested applicants should follow the link below and be prepared to submit the following materials:

  • A 1-2 page resume

  • Two to three relevant work pieces highlighting your policy research capacity and ability to synthesize findings in an accessible and compelling manner to relevant stakeholders.

  • In lieu of a cover letter, please respond to the following question “Please share how pieces of your story, whether they be personal or professional, have shaped your perspective on the challenges currently facing our constitutional democracy as well as the potential we have as a collective to preserve and strengthen it.”
