I've been doing some research on database backups four our new VMWare environment that's based on Cisco UCS servers and NetApp (ugghh!) file storage. Our backup service is outsourced and we have a meeting this week to discuss how to change our current backup processes to make best use of the available technology. The outsourcer is proposing using NetApp tools for this but we are using some Veaam products already so they are an option.
I've found Libor's presentation from Exchange 2014 on virtualised environments, but the examples of using Veamm and BackupExec snapshots are a demo and there doesn't seem to be a video.
I've also seen the Knowledgebase article -
http://knowledgebase.progress.com/articles/Article/000055417 - and I assume the changes for Centos are applicable to Windows. The only issue I might have is that I have multiple databases that make up my application environment and ideally I'd want to proquiet and snapshot them all at the same time.
If anyone has any experiences they are prepared to share I'd be grateful.
