This group is intended to be an online gathering place for Z80 and Z80 compatible CP/M users to share code and discussion.  Good taste and good judgement are required at all times.

All Z80 system programming discussion is welcome here, from programming the from S-100 based systems to Z80-MBCx systems and all point between.  Most Z80 hobbyists are dabbling in BASIC, C, or PASCAL.  Discussion in other programming languages are welcome as well.

Program sharing by code or attachment is welcome provided you indicate the intended system and display type expected to run the software.  Z80 systems both old and new tend to vary in their display output and human interfaces.  (keyboards, game controllers)

Subject lines are best for this, expanding any additional required details in the first lines of the post.

Examples:
  • Subject: FabGL/MBASIC85 Mandelbrot in BASIC
  • Subject: PigFX/Pascal Tetris game
  • Subject: VT100/C Hunt the Wumpus

Attached compiled code for speed is welcome, but we all learn from source code, so when possible post your code.

Programming is part of making new hardware work with your Z80 kit, so posts which are hardware/programming related are welcome as well.   Again use the subject line when discussing specific programming of hardware.

Examples:]
  • Subject: Z80-MBC2 Programming the GPIO in BASIC
  • Subject: AltairDue Simulator Detecting switch settings in C

Addendum:

Messages which are Z80/CP/M related which are not specific to programming are allowed.  These messages are considered off topic.
Please include OT: in your subject line when posting these.

Examples:
  • Subject OT:Making Wordstar work with VT100
  • Subject: OT:Is CP/M really Open Source?

These messages are related to the forum at large and are welcome.

Off topic messages related to Z80 hardware are welcome, but need to be sparse.

Off topic messages regarding politics, religion, or spam will be deleted and warning issued.
Continued posting of these items will bring the "ban hammer."
