The acronym "MIMS" has a long history behind it and originated from our Australian counterpart. To cut the story short, in 1963 we had a monthly publication containing abbreviated product information: Monthly Index of Medical Specialities. Since then, MIMS has become synonymous in Australia for medical product information, and as a brand name it has evolved away from the meaning of the original derivation. MIMS was brought to New Zealand by MIMS (NZ) Ltd in late 2001 as an electronic only resource in the form of MIMS Desktop and MIMS Integrated (MedTech 32). This range of products grew over the next 2 years to include MIMS Online, MIMS on PDA and a range of MIMS Integrated products. The family of products reached its current total with the publication of MIMS New Ethicals in mid 2004.

Devon hit the research trail and discovered so much about himself in the process, including the impact on marginalized communities, particularly within groups he identifies with including first-generation students, black and Latinx, and queer students in high-achieving situations, among others.

Today, Devon regularly volunteers to oversee cases in the University of Florida PAWS Clinic serving under-resourced communities and those with disabilities, but his work and passion for providing access to veterinary care have only begun. Thorsby High School sent five teams to the 94th annual Alabama FFA State Convention on June 8-10 in Montgomery. The Thorsby meat evaluation team won the state championship to move on to the national competition in Indianapolis, Indiana from Oct. 26-29.

Members of the meat evaluation team includes Ava Robison, Jadon Green, Lexi Crowe, Brock Johnson and Chelsea Crumpton. Crumpton earned the highest individual score in the meat evaluation category at the state competition.

The Thorsby poultry and veterinary science teams both placed second at the state competition. The poultry team consisted of Elizabeth Cochran, Presley Mims, Presley Raye Knighton and Emily Parker. The veterinary science team was made up by Mesha Mims, Ella Brasfield, Tori Mims and Maddox. Tori Mims had the highest individual score in the veterinary science category.

Hereford Veterinary Clinic along with representatives from the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine in Amarillo broke ground on a new instructional center of excellence in Hereford, Texas, on Monday, Nov. 28.

This groundbreaking celebrates an incredible commitment from Hereford Veterinary Clinic to construct a purpose-built facility that will serve as an educational device for School of Veterinary Medicine students in their final year at Texas Tech.

The instructional site is an 18,000-square-foot facility located west of Hereford. Its focus is on providing resources and veterinary services in food-animal and production-animal medicine and will be the major clinical outlet for food-animal instruction to Texas Tech veterinary students.
