So I bought a Philips smart TV with the Roku features. Things have been fine up until last week. My wife and I were watching a show on Netflix when it shut the app off and continued to do this. Now the issue has begun with YouTube.

Firstly, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused your streaming with Netflix, YouTube, and the Weather Network channels on your Roku streaming devices. No worries! We're here to provide troubleshooting steps to help you get back on streaming.

Furthermore, Check Network Speed: Ensure your Wi-Fi connection is stable and performing well because sometimes, even with fiber optics, fluctuations in speed or signal strength can cause delays.

I'm having the same issue with Netflix and the Weather network on the roku devices, tried updating and reloading the apps, made no difference. All other streaming devices work fine only roku not working properly. Having difficulty getting help from roku. Not sure what to do next.

It's troubling that we pay for the devices just to have issues not long after. I got my father a Roku TV and have a Roku device hooked up to this other TV and never once has had an issue at all. I don't get it.

I have done these steps as you've suggested and that's a no fix solution. Maybe Roku needs to do a proper investigation than sitting here giving little useless fix it "solutions". My network speed is fine as is everything else. Just doesn't like YouTube and Netflix as far as I know.

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue you are experiencing with Netflix and YouTube while streaming. We appreciate the time you took to follow the troubleshooting steps suggested by @RokuCarly. However, we understand that the issue still persists, and we would like to assist you further. To better isolate the problem, could you please provide us with the following additional information?

The feedback from your customer service in India is: Root cause of the problem with both the channel will be the issue with their App server platform to our server platform which can be resolved by doing couple of trouble shooting step and if the issue persist they channel partner should be contacted for further assistance as we do not have any further access to their App.

So all of a sudden yesterday evening the Netflix app on my roku stopped working. I did the router reset, checked for software updates, reset the roku, and deleted and reinstalled the Netflix app. It takes 7-9 minutes I open Netflix to the accounts option. Then 2-4 minutes to load Netflix and then forever to load a show to play, then after a few minutes it stops and loads again for a very long time. When reinstalling the app it took almost 25 minutes to add the channel.
please help!!

Just finished installing a new Express, everything seems to be good except NetFlix. It tries to start the NetFlix app and crashes, returns back to home screen. I have a Roku Ultra on a different tv, it loaded the Netflix app, required me to do a sign in but the worked normally. Idid remove the app and reinstalled with no change. Not sure what to try now.

If this issue is not resolved, please help us with additional information provided below that would be helpful for our team to look into this problem.
-What Roku model device are you using?
-What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to try to resolve the issue?
-What are you seeing on screen? Can you provide a screenshot of the issue you are experiencing?

I have four roku unit on my tv's . About three months ago one of the units quit loading net flix . In my investigating I swapped that one for another . [ family room to office as I rarely watch netflix in the office, problem averted]. Two days ago another roku devise stopped loading netflix. my hisense smart tv and the other two roku devises are still loading netflix????? What should I do?

If the problem still persists after attempting the troubleshooting steps and videos from other channels play fine, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developers themselves. In this case, there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them.

Everything worked well for months. Suddenly, when we put Netflix on, no sound. There IS sound for a Netflix trailer, but not for an actual show. All other apps (Disney +, CW, Amazon Prime) are working fine. In another room, with another Roku, Netflix is working fine. What happened, and what needs to be done?

My son was able to fix it. I believe he went into Roku settings and then audio. And change the setting to stereo. Rather than the other one that was selected. And the hdmi setting was at auto. Restarted netflix and it was back to normal. Not sure why it started (never changed the setting to begin with) but it's worked fine since. Hope this helps!

Can you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing? Is the issue you are experiencing only happen on the Netflix channel or does the loss of audio happen on all channels? What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to try to resolve the issue? How long has the issue been occurring?

As a first step, could you try to remove any channel you observe this issue on from the Roku home screen? Then, restart your device. Once it loads up again, add the channel back once more and try playing content again.

For some time, my wife has been complaining about our Apple TV 4 buffering and/or failing to connect to Netflix. As we have another way to stream (Roku) to that same TV, I haven't paid much attention. Both Roku and ATV are on the home's WiFi, and ATV shows max signal strength reception. We live in a rural area, and interference from other networks is not a problem.

The other night, I decided to stream a movie using ATV (prefer the ATV Netflix app since it has a "search" function, while Roku does not). We started watching the movie, but at about ten minutes in, ATV began buffering. We switched to Roku, selected "Resume Watching" and watched the remaining 1+30 minutes of the film without a problem.

Interference isn't just from other networks, there are a lot of factors that can cause it within your network. Another device working doesn't rule that out and the signal strength shown on the device does not account for any issues either.

To see a current status of the network get a report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show an accurate signal strength along with noise and if there were other networks they would show up here. You can also try testing on another network.

With regard to netstumbler, I installed it but it is not working on my Windows 10 machine --- I am getting a "no wireless adapter found." Researching this condition, I see that troubleshooting it may be at the edge of my technical abilities, or interest, or time available, or a combination of all three.

I appreciate your reply. However, the issue remains that whatever environmental conditions might be affecting the ATV's ability to stream Netflix content in my particular setting, those same factors don't affect Roku in the single example. The boxes are located physically right next to each other.

Netstumbler is just one example, there are many others. You would need a network report to see the condition of your network or using Ethernet, testing on another network would also help verify any WiFi issues. The roku working doesn't mean the ATV is the issue, rather that one is picking up on the network problem. As such there are users who report the exact opposite (roku buffering, ATV or other devices working fine). I wouldn't place both devices right next together as that will project interference

Downloaded the speed test and installed. Just used it so far on the existing infrastructure (ATV connected via WiFi). I doubt I'll go to the trouble of moving the ATV to a place where it could be connected via ethernet (still not sure what info relevant to the problem at hand this connection would yield).

The Roku does indeed "step all over" the ATV4's download speeds. With Roku powered up and connected to the network, ATV4 is barely able to maintain connectivity at .1 to .2 Mbps. Unplug Roku, and ATV4 screams along at a respectable 40-50 Mbps, more than enough for any streaming I will ever do.
