You can create a segment without the use of a T1 or T0
The T1 or T0 is needed if you need routing between the segments.
You can connect segments to a T0 (tier-0). A T0 has the possibility to connect your virtual environment to the outside world. (static, bgp or ospf in the latest nsx-t release)

backup node file [passphrase ] Create a backup of an NSX KeyManager node.If you do not provide a passphrase on the command line, youwill be prompted to enter one.
