Throughoutthe course of Slime Rancher players will find many different interesting things to do to fill their time. Collecting a range of different slimes and filling up the many different corrals around the ranch is one very productive thing to do in the game, but players can also explore the world to find hidden areas, or even expand their ranch into diverse new spots. All of these different things to do can be a little overwhelming sometimes, so its hard to figure out where to start.

The thing to keep in mind though is that to do anything the player will probably need a solid bank of money to keep themselves going. No matter what things that player wants to check out they will need that cash to either pay for new expansions, purchase items, or acquire upgrades. Earning money can be a pretty difficult process though, so players will need to work hard if they want to acquire a steady supply of income. This guide shows players the best ways to earn money fast in Slime Rancher.

As an example, I had a small incident where a bunch of meat-eating explosive Boom Slimes who had gotten a) hungry and b) loose from their corral prison decimated the chicken coop I'd set up. I got back from my day's exploring to a lot of poop and zero chickens. Rather than set up a new coop immediately I force-fed the Boom Slimes some pink plorts changing their diet from only meat to everything and used up my mango backlog. They then proved even harder to contain and started setting off explosions all over the place and eventually broke th

One of the best ways to earn money in the game will require players to spend a little bit of money and time first though. Putting slimes in corrals is a great way to earn cash early on, but players who want to earn a lot of money will find that they can't safely contain as many slimes inside a corral as they might want. The way to combat this is to allow certain slimes free range of an area.

The player will need to keep a few things in mind if they want to make this work though. First and foremost they will need to purchase or obtain one of the many other expansions to the ranch. The Grotto and The Overgrowth in particular are great for allowing certain types of slimes to roam without corrals. By keeping them away from the main part of the ranch the player can make sure they aren't in their way constantly.

Another big thing is to only let one or two types of slimes free range at any given time in an area. This will prevent them from being able to turn into Tarrs which can completely decimate the whole area and wipe out the player's slimes. Keeping two types of slimes will only allow them to turn into Largos

A great early way to use free-ranging slimes is to fill The Grotto with Phosphor Slimes since it is completely dark, and these slimes require darkness. All the player has to do then is put in a few fruit trees and allow these slimes to roam and eat however they wish.

If the player really wants to make money in Slime Rancher though they will have to determine the best ways to combine slimes into Largos. There are some Largos that just really aren't worth the player's time due to their plorts being relatively worthless or the Largos being too dangerous. When players are combining different slimes together they will want to keep different these few things in mind:

There are several different combinations that the player will be able to create that is easy to use to gain money, but there are few that are perfect for players of any skill level. Honey/Hunter and Quantum/Saber are great combinations because they eliminate having to need chickens to keep the meat-eating slimes fed. At all costs, players should try to avoid combining meat-eating slimes like Boom, Saber, Hunter, and Tabby as they are difficult to keep happy and full. They can also make for pretty dangerous combinations.

Many players may not realize that Mochi's Manor can be a great way to earn some extra cash. Once the player receives an invitation to travel to Mochi's place they will be able to complete a mini-game like quest for here that has them shooting Quicksilver Slimes in order to collect their plorts. The player will then sell these plorts directly back to Mochi for a decent chunk of change. This already gives the player a good way to earn some extra cash but there are others.

Just by completing these missions for Mochi, the player will also unlock additional rewards that will make way for more ways to earn money. One reward is a buff that will sometimes give the player double the money whenever they sell plorts at the market. This only triggers occasionally, but it is an easy way to earn extra cash. On top of this, the player will also be able to eventually earn Mochi's Manor entirely which will allow them to transport slimes or grow food there.

This method won't earn the player a massive amount of money for each individual object that they crack open, but over time this will definitely add up. Throughout the world, the player will find wooden crates tucked away in different areas that they can pick up and throw to break open. These will typically contain a few different resources like chickens, fruits, or veggies, but the player will also earn a little bit of money whenever one is opened as well.

Treasure Pods however are a little more rare and therefore will provide the player with some additional resources and money. In order to open them though the player will first need to unlock the treasure cracker upgrades first, which means spending a little bit of money first. The higher tiers of these upgrades can become very expensive, but it is also very worth it in the long run for those who want to open every single one of these pods.

The final way to earn money in Slime Rancher can be done by completing missions for other ranchers. Every so often the player will receive requests from other ranchers around the area to acquire different resources for them. All the player has to do is go up to the Range Exchange and press the button in order to acquire a mission, and then set out to find the different things that these ranchers need.

Some of these quests will be easier to complete than others, but the more difficult ones will give the player better rewards. By turning finishing these better quests the player will be able to obtain more money for their efforts as well, so it's a good idea to try and take quests from characters like Viktor, Mochi, or Ogden that tend to give out tougher quests. These three also allow the player to check out some more interesting questlines as well.

Plorts you find along the way are also useful for cashing in. Now simply fire all the veggies, fruits, and cotton slimes into your quarrel. The cotton slimes will consume the dispersed vegetables and poop out cotton plorts.

To make money, take the plorts and shoot them into the tube at the plort stock exchange. This should immediately be used to finance your very first garden. Cotton slimes favor water cabbage and provide double the amount of plorts,

When I go to my exercise class in the evening sometimes the matter of what I do for a living comes up in pre-class chat. Usually I can be like, "This is a credible grown-up profession. I absolutely pinky swear this to be true!" The last few days I have spent 30 hours corralling adorable bouncing blobs and selling their poop on the stock market or funnelling it into science. Maybe I'll pretend I've lost my voice at class this evening. But Slime Rancher [official site] is so cute I also want to tell everyone about it! Here's Wot I Think...

Slime Rancher is Monomi Park's first-person farming sandboxy sim. You play as Beatrix LeBeau, a rancher deposited a thousand light years from Earth who will gradually build up her ranch and expand her access to the alien world around her.

You start off with a house on a small plot of land. Predesignated squares show you where structures can be built to contain slimes or to farm resources, but it's all so barren and nothingy. Well, except for the excitable pink blobs bounding around and cooing over carrots.

When you start, the game teaches you basic movement, shows you how to suck up slimes into your backpack, gets you to spit them back out into a little corral to pen them in and has you feed them a carrot so they poop out a thing called a plort.

Plorts are the main focus of the game systems and most of what you do revolves around how you generate or use them. Early on that's just about sucking them up and spitting them into the plort market to earn money. Later, when you have enough currency to unlock the lab area, you'll use them in conjunction with other resources to create decorations for your home and labour-saving devices to assist you in your farming. Later still, they're part of how you unlock secrets in some of the areas you'll explore.

Something you learn really early on is that if a slime eats a plort from a different slime type it morphs into a bigger slime with characteristics from each. You get giant pink tabby cat blobs or glow-in-the-dark rocky blobs boinging about pooping hither and yon. The advantage of these is that they'll eat the things both base species of slime eat and the disadvantage is that they take up way more space and are harder to contain leading to more expensive corral requirements.

They then proved even harder to contain and started setting off explosions all over the place and eventually broke through the roof of the pen. I eventually taught them all a lesson by throwing them in the incinerator and starting again with the whole area.

Other slimes are even more picky about their living conditions or are even harder to keep in place but I don't think I can really tell you about them without spoiling things I was glad I discovered for myself!
