Justineconverted her yoga space into a film studio with professional cameras, lighting and microphones. She concurrently livestreams and films each class. The videos are placed on her website where they can be accessed on demand for studio members. The post-class editing can take three to four hours. As a result, I now spend more time on technology than teaching. The technology aspect is sometimes frustrating.

I sat down with Justine Lemos, owner of at One yOga, intending to talk about how she returned home to open a sweet little yoga studio in Fort Bragg. I quickly learned that the studio is merely one of her many pursuits. As she described her involvement in academia, classical Indian dance, and explained such exotic terms as Ayurveda and Jyotish, I found myself mesmerized by her intelligence and drive.

Justine was Valedictorian of her 1995 class. Along the way, she became an accomplished ballet artist, which led to a curiosity about the relationship between dance and ritual. She found Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts to be a place that would nurture this study.

After the Fulbright ended, Justine entered the doctoral program in Cultural Anthropology at UC Riverside, and Grady started law school at Whittier College. Her focus was Dance Ethnography, specifically with an emphasis on embodiment in South Asian dance. In 2008, an Institute of India Studies grant paid for both of them to live in India for a year while Justine did research for her dissertation. They returned to Southern California in 2009. She started writing her dissertation and Grady began his last year of law school. During that time, she became pregnant.

Melanie Yazzie is a talented printmaker, painter, and sculptor. She is currently a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and has exhibited around the world. She brings personal history into her work while her aesthetic depicts a purity of form that is universally accessible. Yazzie often collaborates with international artists, and this summer Denver Art Museum visitors have been able to collaborate with her in their own creative endeavors through three weekend workshops. Yazzie has been working on creating 18 new works of art over the course of her three-month residency, which began in early June. The studio space has already come alive with works in progress. Stop by and meet the artist and spark your own creativity! Her final days on site will be July 25-29, ending with her last hands-on weekend workshop.

Classic (3/5-All): This mode provides a broad and regular tuning of pure 3rds and 5ths. In cases of conflict, the degree of purity is temporarily reduced. This mode can be used for all types of music. The value of the Depth parameter indicates the degree of the 3rd and 5th purity. A setting of 100% determines maximum purity. A 10% value is the lowest purity setting. Off sets the tuning to an equal tempered scale.

Baroque (3/5-Adaptive): This mode tunes pure 3rds and 5ths (with changing characteristics). In tonal music, with a clear harmonic center, the middle chords are tuned very purely, whereas more distant chords are tuned with less purity. If the harmonic center becomes unclear, all chords are tuned with equal purity. As with the other mode parameters, a Depth value of 100% determines the highest purity, and a value of 10%, the lowest purity.
