Hi, Troy.
I am getting to the point that I need your help to install all
ProfitPy requirements and get it to work on Windows. By the way,
thanks for your work a lot. You mentioned that in order to get
ProfitPy to work, I need
antlr and py-antlr (version 2.7.7) : done
java2python and scipy : done
ibpy(v .7.4-9.20) and profitpy v 0.1 : done
qt and QTpy (v 4.3.3) : done
MinGW (v 5.1.4) : done
SIP : I could not
install it
By the way, I downloaded SIP 4.7.4 from
http://www.riverbankcomputing.com/software/sip/download and try to use
python configure.py to install. But the error occured.
Did I use the wrong version of those things? Which
version of SIP I must use and where to get it? The only place I can
find it is from the riverbankcomputing website.
Thank you very much.

Another thing, what kind of Data that profitpy can extract from IB;
TickData or historical data (open, close, high, low, time duration). Since
I can not get profitpy to work, I can not find the information on that
data.

Could not install SIP? What's the error?

Riverbank is the right place, and 4.7.4 is the right version.

ProfitPy serializes all of the IB messages (more specifically, all of
the IbPy message objects).

However, there isn't any UI for historical data. Tick data, of
course, but not historical data. At least not yet.

Thanks Troy,
I already got SIP installed. However, I still need lot of time
to develop codes.
By the way, besides IB, which data provider you are using? or
just IB?
Aonlazio

P.S. This place is really quiet.

This activity was entirely about IB. In this domain... meaning folks
who don't have access to other, typically expensive, data sources, IB is
the way to go....

the one exception is OpenTick which has some python integration and can
be found on the OpenTick forums. Reviews of OpenTick are often mixed...
recently there are signs of life and OpenTick may be an alternative,
potentially higher performance source.
