Hello all,

I have been working with Nick on this and wanted to see if anyone else had any input. We have seen an extremely large drop-off in the publications Profiles is getting from disambiguation, and I am not sure what is causing it. Here are the number of publications we have had per year:

2025 - 180
2024 - 1997
2023 - 7648
2022 - 8357
2021 - 9186
2020 - 9144
2019 - 8878
2018 - 9156
2017 - 9030
2016 - 9251
2015 - 8965

We haven't made any changes to our terms in [Profiles].[Profile.Data].[Publication.PubMed.DisambiguationAffiliation], or anywhere else. I took a look at the publications in PubMed and they still match our affiliation terms. Nick has said it might be due to the middle initial being included in the forename field of the author XML. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Mark Smith
