Subject: [Gamesnetwork] Funded PhD position on games and play in higher education
To: gamesn...@lists.tuni.fi <gamesn...@lists.tuni.fi>

Dear all,

Apologies for cross-posting.

We’re recruiting a fully funded PhD student at Utrecht University/University Medical Center Utrecht on the topic of higher education and games/play. Specially, the PhD will be conducting research into the “hidden curriculum” prevalent at Utrecht University, using games and play as heuristic to explore the hidden curriculum’s goals and rules (i.e., prevalent norms, social and institutional conditions), “players” (i.e., teachers and students), and (successful) strategies involved in traversing it.

We’re looking for a candidate with a keen interest in educational research.

The position is funded for a duration of four years (with a one year probationary period) with a salary between € 3.017,- and € 3.824,- gross per month, based on full-time employment (36 hours). For a more detailed description of the position see: https://www.academictransfer.com/en/jobs/351806/phd-project-level-the-playing-field-by-exposing-the-hidden-curriculum/

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with either Gisela van der Velden (g.j.vande...@umcutrecht.nl) or me (j.f.va...@uu.nl) if you’re considering applying and have questions.

Also, colleagues, I would be grateful if you could circulate the position amongst interested students and candidates. Thanks!

All the best,

Jasper
