THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR PLAY has joined forces with Professors
at Play and Unlikely
Collaborators to create Playposium 2025 from June 23-26 at the University
of Denver's beautiful Kennedy Mountain Campus.
What is a Playposium? It is an immersive and dynamic gathering
blending the best elements of a workshop, retreat, and conference, with time
for fun outdoor exploration. Designed for educators and play professionals,
Playposium offers an interactive space to explore the science and practice of
play in education, leadership, and personal growth. Through hands-on
experiences, keynotes, thought-provoking discussions, and professional
connections, Playposium redefines how play can transform learning, creativity,
well-being, and Perception Box, the framework of biases, beliefs, and
narratives that influence how we interpret reality.

Hello Professors at Play!
I want to extend an invitation to join us this June in Colorado for the next iteration of the Professors at Play Playposium. As this little community has grown, so has the Playposium, and we are simply delighted to share this event with you!
What is a Playposium? When Lisa and I started this group, it became apparent quickly that there were so many ideas and so much energy around play in education that we needed to develop a format for getting people together. Thanks to COVID, the first two Playposiums were held online. Last year, we partnered with ASU to bring the Playposium to life in Los Angeles. Anyone who was able to attend would tell you it was a blast. Both restorative and educational, it was everything we hoped a conference about playful pedagogy could be. And we even were blessed with a keynote from Dr. Stuart Brown.
It took a while to line things up for Playposium 2025, but we did it. This year, we are heading to the mountains outside of Denver. So, in addition to the collaborative, transformative and playful structure we have developed so far, we can now add that this will be a proper retreat!

The basics details: June 23-26th. The conference fee of $1000 covers transportation to the mountains from the University of Denver campus, all meals, lodging, and activities. We think this is a super great deal for a conference with this much to offer.
All of this has been made possible through our partnership with The National Institute of Play and the generosity of Unlikely Collaborators. We will tell you more about what the NIFP and UC bring to the Playposium. For now, we just want you to consider shaking out the piggy bank and joining us.
As always, this is a labor of love and an utterly non-profit adventure. This is just another step forward in that joyful Playvolution and we can’t do it without you.
