Suggestions for New York City?

Hello! I have a curiosity for anyone who is familiar with New York City... I am planning some travel there this summer, and I would love to have your suggestions for places a 'playful professor' should visit? I have the list of all the common/popular touristy places, but are there any hidden gems I might find to fill my playful professor nerdy cup? ;)

Hello Kim,

I've been doing some research on play places so I have a few on my list around NY. I have not been to any of these but they are things I am aware of:

• Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester

• Museum of Failure (seems playful :)) in Industry City in Brooklyn

• The Art of Graffiti in Brooklyn

Hi Kim!

I am here in NYC.  The two second ones sound great on Lisa’s list! First one is in Rochester which is great but 10 hours from here :-)

MOMA right now for sure.

Do a MET museum scavenger hunt-can be found online and they have a great teacher resource center. 

Queens Museum has a great miniature city of NY that does day and night very fun. They often have hands on activities.

Museum of the city of New York-games and play from past times.

Tenement museum you embody an immigrant family from the turn of century and experience life there at that time.
