Hello!

It took a little longer than planned (it always does, right?). But we are happy to announce that the third book in the Professors at Play PlayBook series has launched!

You can grab a free downloadable copy or order print copies here:

https://professorsatplay.org/professors-at-play-online-playbook/

The Professors at Play ONLINE PlayBook collects over 50 techniques and strategies designed to make the online classroom more fun. Rooted in the concept of playful pedagogy, this anthology shares proven approaches to increasing student engagement and learning in higher education. The approaches range from simple ice breakers to get students involved in an online class to more complex approaches to teaching complex subjects and concepts. The Online PlayBook complements the original Professors at Play PlayBook, expanding the possibilities for play in the academy.

Many, many thanks to all the playful professors who shared their ideas and techniques with us. This book is truly a community collaboration, and it was a delight to put together.

Please take a look and bring any questions, comments, or thoughts back to this forum. And please share the word! While print and eBook formats do cost money, we make sure that our publications are fully open for sharing. So, let folks know there is a new, free resource available dealing directly with playful online courses.

And while you are here--I hope you are considering coming to Colorado this June for the Playpsoium: http://playposium.com

One more thing!

I got so excited about sharing the info about the Online PlayBook that I forgot to thank our publishing partner: Play Story Press

It has been a pleasure to be a part of this consortium, and it is a treasure trove of publishing around play and games. If you have not visited their site, please do!
