Although the Icon series has a plethora of iconic characters, players usually show a disposition towards creators who have been inducted for their contribution to Fortnite. Of late, fans have been asking if the popular content creator iShowspeed has his own skin.
The answer is a simple no. iShowspeed doesn't have a Fortnite skin or any other item shop cosmetic as of now. However, there are a few concept videos on the internet where Speed has been rendered as an in-game cosmetic outfit. Such videos have heralded a wave of false claims in the community that he is the next one to be inducted into the Icon Series.
For the unversed, Darren "iShowspeed," is a YouTube-based content creator. He is infamous for his bad boy antics and a career mired in controversy. Speed covers many video games like Fortnite, Minecraft, and NBA. Of late, despite his controversies, he has been tracking an impressive growth on social media.
iShowspeed recently uploaded a reaction video to his second channel, where he reacts to a Fortnite concept skin modeled after himself. While the video has set the community abuzz, it remains a mere speculation by some fans.
No Fortnite leaks & data miners like iFireMonkey, HYPEX, or Shiina have shared any leaks pertaining to this claim. However, it would be biased if we were to discount iShowspeed as a prospective candidate for the Icon Series. Despite his controversies, he maintains a legion of followers who would appreciate the skin.
However, this seems like a distant dream, at least for now. Epic Games is very cautious when it comes to being in a precarious domain. The latest ban on the Rue outfit is a testament to this. While iShowspeed has, without a doubt, established themselves as an important figure in the video game streaming sphere, they are simply too unfiltered to be inducted into the Icon Series.
Like all my math posts, our goal is to determine the formula behind our mechanic, which in this case happens to be movement speed. In order to do this, we need to figure out how movement speed bonus gets translated into actual movement speed in game. If we just take 410/512 and 550/512, we will get 0.801 and 1.074 respectively which you will find rounds to 0.8 and 1.1 displayed in your UI. This formula was of course confirmed through a lengthy verification process where I plugged the formula against actual in game numbers at varying movement speed bonuses to see if they match up and guess what, they did.
This cap is further supported by the down arrows displayed in the UI typically used for other stats when they are capped such as F.O.R.T. To put these numbers into perspective, most husks spawn 8 tiles away from the base. To cover a distance of 8 tiles, a player with capped sprint speed of 1.9 t/s will take 4.2s, 3s faster than another player at base sprint speed of 1.1 t/s.
Even though Dire is supposed to have 85% movement speed bonus (10% Shinobi + 25% Perk + 50% Unique Perk), I believe he only receives 60% as shown by the in-game numbers of 1.3/1.7. His level 30 perk which was supposed to give an additional 50% bonus is instead replacing the base perk and only giving 50%, thus making it 60% total. This means that the hero, who can otherwise hit sprint speed cap on his own, isn't even able to hit the run speed cap.
BluGlo pylons seem to give 15% movement speed after working backwards using the UI tile/s numbers after the pylon is active. Of course, I even tested this in conjunction with other movement speed bonuses to ensure rounding doesn't throw us off.
Movement speed bonus on sword was throwing my numbers off a little especially running the Lead Sled which was capable of running 2 movement speed perks. I believe this is due to the bonus not actually being 5/7/10/12/14, but rather a decimal number that gets rounded off to them. It is highly like that a number between 2.25 and 2.37 was added to a base of 5 for each perk rarity.

Based on the comment from the official Fortnite Twitter page, there likely won't be any changes made to the animations in any of the immediate patches. Though characters now move slower due to these animations, Epic Games seems to want to wait out this trial period and give users a chance to get used to the new movement speed before making any adjustments to it.
