Teaching everyone that NIHL is 100% preventable with the right tools such as volume limited headphones is personal to us! When our founders youngest daughter started to have problems hearing as a teen and was diagnosed with NIHL leaving her partly deaf from listening to her headphones too loud he set out on a mission to make headphones that sounded great but could not go above the recommended listening level of 85dB.

What justifies the electrostatic approach in designing a loudspeaker? This is an important question that deserves an answer. We asked ourselves the same question over 30 years ago and, with over three decades of experience in designing electrostatic speakers, we feel qualified to offer an answer.
When Sound Lab started business in 1978 electrostatic speakers were in an infantile development stage, being not much more than a laboratory curiosity with the notable exception of two early pioneers, Arthur Janszen of JansZen Electrostatic and Peter Walker of Quad. Nevertheless, we envisioned that electrostatic technology promised the most accurate means of reproducing sound.
Sound Lab has been in business since 1978. The founders of the company, Dr. Roger West and Dr. Dale Ream, shared a belief that electrostatic transduction was potentially the optimum technology for loudspeakers.
Our warranty is 3 years full coverage on all manufacturing defects or failures with no cost to the registered original purchaser and is not transferable. Warranty covers only products sold in the United States. This warranty period begins on the date of purchase.
Should any defect in materials or failures occur within the three (3) year limited warranty period, please contact us with your name, address, and phone number to obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number. Once we establish your claim, you will be emailed a (RA) number with shipping address and further instructions. Transit damage is not covered by this warranty. Therefore, always insure your shipment.
I love my custom home theater speakers. It sounds far better than any commercial movie theater. The clarity and sound accuracy are dead on. While in 2 channel mode, listening to my recordings, they sounded better than they did in the studio. The detail to audio perfection is nothing short of amazing. Thank you for your fine product.

I never thought in wall could sound so good. I purchased the AE 963 just knowing I would be your first customer to return them because I am so picky. But they were everything you said. You saved me tens of thousands of dollars over the McIntosh WS-350 I was going to buy and give me much better speakers. When we build your theater later, we will be installing your speakers. Again, thank you and I have been telling my friends about your company.
I installed these speakers while doing a home renovation. You can purchase something cheaper however, you will be disappointed. You WILL NOT be disappointed in these speakers. Absolute Sound Laboratories is full-service facility and specializes in repair and restoration of vintage, high-fidelity audio gear. Most 50s, 60s, and 70s brands still popular today were made so well originally, that nearly any issue can be resolved with proper service and care. We have the necessary technical information, literature, parts, test equipment, and experience to restore your audio equipment to like-new condition. We would be more than happy to evaluate your equipment and let you know how it is performing. A unit with dead channels, hum, sterile sound, and scratchy noises might otherwise sideline that unit, but issues like these can nearly always be repaired.
Even if your vintage audio equipment is reproducing sound and more-or-less working, chances are high it is not performing with the sonic quality that it should be. Poor frequency response, excessive distortion, and low power output are just a few of the common problems we see in vintage equipment.
That's where we come in. We're here to solve these problems and restore reliability along with the sonic performance that your equipment can, and should be, delivering to your ears.
Absolute Sound Labs was founded in 1964 and has been an authorized McIntosh Service facility since 1969. We service both in-warranty and out-of-warranty McIntosh products. McIntosh Labs, Inc., recently limited their own in-house servicing of vintage tube and solid-state equipment. Absolute Sound Labs was selected as one of a very limited number of McIntosh Service Clinics to handle these issues.
