Hello API Update Subscribers,

ProctorU is happy to announce that it has now increased it’s complexity requirements for users’ passwords. This update was implemented to allow for a more secure and trusted experience for our users.Users’ passwords now have the following requirements:

  • Must be between 8 and 16 characters long

  • Must include 1 lowercase character, 1 uppercase character, and 1 digit

  • Must not be equal to username, email, phone number, first name, or last name

  • Must not have the same character repeat more than 2 times

When creating users through the API be sure to check that if you are setting a password for the user that it now abides by the new requirements.Passwords sent that do not meet these new conditions will be met with an error message describing the conditions it does not meet, such as “Invalid User Password: Must not be equal to username, email, phone number, first name, or last name”. ProctorU hopes with this new update you all can feel more secure with the integrity of your accounts.

Happy Testing!
