This wikiHow teaches you how to set a new ringtone for incoming voice calls on WhatsApp Messenger, using iPhone and Android. For iOS 10 and above, you will have to change your ringtone for all mobile calls in order to change your WhatsApp ringtone. For Android or iOS 9 and older, you can change your WhatsApp ringtone in-app separately.

I configure on Whatsapp notifications , Notification tone and Ringtone.
Sometime later (there is no rule , it may be days but it may be in a matter of seconds) the defaults tones are restored.
Is there a way to fix this bug ? ( perhaps to delete all tones and left only my own stuff.

Is it possible that you had set 'Notification tone' and 'Ringtone' of your WhatsApp to 'Default ringtone' while some app then changed the 'Default notofication sound' & 'ringtone' in 'Settings - Sound' of your phone later?

Every WhatsApp notification on your iPhone has the same default tone. But just like specific contact tones that work for calls and texts, you can set unique custom tones for notable people and groups on your WhatsApp.

From now on, whenever that person or group sends you a message on WhatsApp, it will have the custom alert tone you selected in step 5 above. All other new WhatsApp messages will have the usual default tone, but you can customize that as well.

WhatsApp allows you to turn conversation tones for incoming and outgoing messages on or off. You can also choose to use high priority notifications on your Android phone. This shows previews of notifications at the top of your screen and can be used to disable peeking notifications.

Notification preferences can easily be managed in your WhatsApp settings. Check here the step-by-step guide for WhatsApp users to change the notification tone and per their choice. Here is how to change notification tone in WhatsApp:

  • Launch WhatsApp on your phone
  • Open an individual or group chat
  • Tap on the name of the individual or group chat
  • Now tap on Custom notifications
  • Then check Use custom notifications.
Here is how to reset your notifications settings in WhatsApp:
  • Launch WhatsApp on your phone
  • Now tap on Settings and then tap on Notifications
  • Then tap on More options that appear as three dots
  • Tap on reset notification settings
  • Finally, tap on RESET.

You can customize your ringtone for that specific contact who seems very important to you and you can not afford to miss a call or message from that person. Doing so will help you to identify who is calling or messaging even when you do not have your mobile in your hand. Note:

While we wouldn't suggest activating this functionality for your bae's message history, the ability to have WhatsApp messages automatically disappear after a certain period of time is useful to keep more noisy chats manageable.

To enable this feature, go into the WhatsApp chat you want to change the settings for, and at the top of your screen click on the person's or the group chat's name. In the menu screen that next appears, scroll down until you see the "Disappearing messages" option and tap it to toggle it on.

You can customize the sound alert tone you hear when you receive a WhatsApp message from any contact or group. This is very useful because it means you can differentiate between group chats that you might not necessarily need to keep up with in real time and important direct messages from your loved ones.

To give a WhatsApp group or contact a custom tone, go into the chat and tap on the person's or group's name at the top of the screen. Scroll down to Custom Tone and click through. You can then change the default tone to one you know you're either safe to ignore or one that you know means you need to grab your phone stat.

Additionally, two of these new hand gestures - ? Rightwards Hand and ? Leftwards Hand - have been used to create a series of new ? Handshake emoji sequences with multiple different skin tone options.

While skin tone support ? Handshake emojis were only formally recommended in Emoji 14.0, including those that feature two hands with the same skin tone, single skin tone versions of ? Handshake have been supported by WhatsApp since the app introduces its own native design set for Android devices in late 2017.

The Charming Bell ringtone/text notification tone that is available in WhatsApp on Android is absent in iOS. I have saved it as an Apple ringtone and imported it to my iPhone 6 using iTunes but WhatsApp will not see it. The best I can do is set the tone as the text ringtone for incoming SMSs. Any suggestions?

Finally, WhatsApp is now releasing the possibility to create different skin tone combinations for couple emojis. The feature has been previously spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.22.8 changelog, but it was under development. Today, WhatsApp is rolling out this option to select beta testers:

WhatsApp never misses a chance to make the app more interesting and engaging for its users. Maybe this is the reason why the app is so used widely all over the world to chat and communicate. As per the latest information, WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature which will now allow users to select different skin tone combinations while picking couple emojis. However, it needs to be noted that the roll out is on WhatsApp beta for Android devices. WhatsApp has been frequently adding new features for Android devices in recent times.

The information was provided by WABetaInfo over its Twitter handle when it tweeted, "WhatsApp is rolling out skin tone combinations on WhatsApp beta for Android! WhatsApp is now enabling a new feature to select different skin tone combinations while picking couple emojis." Also, it further said in a statement, "While we're waiting for a new bug fix update for WhatsApp beta for Android through the Google Play Store, that should address the crash on Android 12 (but it's already available as web release), WhatsApp is now releasing a new feature about emojis."

People love sending and sharing emojis while they chat on WhatsApp as it not only helps in conveying the emotions in a better way, but is also easy to share. "Finally, WhatsApp is now releasing the possibility to create different skin tone combinations for couple emojis," WABetaInfo said.

WhatsApp has started beta testing skin tone combinations for couple emojis on Android. The update comes a long time after the instant messaging app has allowed iOS users to pick their preferred skin tone combination for couple emojis on the iPhone. Separately, WhatsApp has reportedly started testing a new feature to let users explore the Sticker Store and find relevant stickers for their chats directly from the WhatsApp Web or desktop client. Stickers are already an intrinsic part of the messaging app and are gaining popularity among users.

As initially spotted by WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started rolling out skin tone combinations for couple emojis to select beta testers on Android. The change is a part of WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.21.24.11.

The exact timeline on when we could see skin tone combinations for couple emojis has not yet been announced. Nevertheless, considering historical records, WhatsApp may bring them for regular users in the near coming future.

You can then go on to change the custom tone for the chosen contact (for example, The Imperial March from Star Wars for your boss), decide if you want a short or long vibrate, set a special popup to appear when they get in touch and even choose from a range of different light colours to greet their virtual arrival. You can also set a particular ringtone and vibration length for when the person calls you via WhatsApp.

With the tool, you can not only turn a song into ringtone and save on your Android but also manage phone photos, music, videos, contacts, messages, apps and more in a flexible way. The personal information can be saved as readable format which can view at any time.
