Hello,

We’re running a research study “Using Reinforcement Learning to adapt to a Player’s Strategy in Strategy Game” (Pro00129448) to determine the effectiveness of an artificial intelligence (A.I.) agent that aims to adapt to a player’s gameplay. We are inviting all of you to participate in the study and help us gather on the effectiveness of our agent. The study takes up to 30 minutes to complete (~15 minutes of gameplay, ~15 minute survey), during which you will play 3 games of a research game we’re calling “RPS Dungeons”. The study will be conducted online.

We don’t offer compensation, but we would really appreciate your help! You must be an English speaker (18 and over) to participate.

If you’re interested in taking part, visit sites.ualberta.ca/~toume for more details, or contact Jawdat at to...@ualberta.ca. The principal investigator of the study is Matthew Guzdial. You can reach him at guz...@ualberta.ca or via 780-777-5638.

Thanks!

Matthew Guzdial
