I just wanted to bring you all the good news that our journal, the IEEE Transactions on Games, has received a new Impact Factor. The new Impact Factor is 1.886, which is a substantial increase over the last two years.

https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/RecentIssue.jsp?punumber=7782673

The impact factor is a reflection of how well-cited the papers a journal publishes are, in particular how often they are cited by other high-quality journals (and some conferences). A journal with a high impact factor is considered more prestigious, which means that papers published there are likely to count more highly for e.g. tenure, promotion, and recruitment committees.

This increase is due to authors who keep submitting their best papers to the journal, reviewers who review them, and associate editors who coordinate the reviews. Thanks to all of you!

And please keep submitting your papers to ToG. Now is an especially good time to submit to a journal, given that no conferences are likely to be happening in-person until next summer or so. Remember that ToG has several submission categories (Letter, Short Paper, Regular Paper, and Survey); not everything needs to be ten pages in double-column format.

Thanks for your hard work Julian, it is much appreciated and certainly great news! :)

I was wondering what is going on with Scimago?
They are currently only indexing the "old" journal, not the new.
Is there anything explicit that needs to be done for them to list IEEE ToG?
Ciao
