Hi,

I’m pleased to announce the release of issue #1 of Game & Puzzle Design:

This issue is print only, but we are looking at also providing electronic access in future.

Cameron,

Congrats on publishing the first issue! I'm interested to see where this goes, enough to get a print copy for the first issue at least! I think electronic access will be very useful for distribution going forward.

I am curious as to where the money is going for this -- is there some kind of non-profit behind the issue that is using the funds to cover operating costs? Is it paying you and/or the editors and/or the authors for the hard work? Is it purely printing cost for Lulu?

I am all in favor of people getting paid for their labor, I am just also in favor of open access and financial transparency in academic publishing. :)
