Ek Tha Tiger: A Review
Ek Tha Tiger is a 2012 Indian action thriller film directed by Kabir Khan and starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. It is the first installment in the Tiger franchise and the first film in the YRF Spy Universe. The film follows the story of Tiger, a RAW agent, who falls in love with Zoya, a Pakistani spy, while on a mission in Dublin. The film was a huge commercial success, grossing over 335 crore worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2012.
The Plot
Tiger, a RAW agent, is sent to Dublin to observe Anwar Kidwai, a scientist of Indian origin who is suspected of sharing his research findings with Pakistan's ISI. He meets Zoya, who works as a part-time caretaker at Anwar's house. Tiger and Zoya develop a romantic relationship, but soon discover each other's true identities as spies from rival countries. They decide to elope and escape from their respective agencies, but are pursued by both RAW and ISI across various countries. They manage to evade their enemies and reach Havana, where they plan to start a new life. However, they are betrayed by Zoya's former colleague Gopi, who reveals their location to Shenoy, Tiger's boss. Shenoy sends a team of RAW agents to capture Tiger and Zoya, but they fight back and escape. They then board a cargo ship to Istanbul, where they hope to find Anwar and clear their names. However, they are confronted by Zoya's boss Captain Abrar, who reveals that Anwar is actually an ISI agent who has been working on a nuclear device for Pakistan. Abrar orders Zoya to kill Tiger, but she refuses and shoots Abrar instead. Tiger and Zoya then team up with Anwar and defuse the bomb before it can be detonated. They then contact Shenoy and convince him to let them go free. Shenoy agrees and tells them to disappear forever. Tiger and Zoya then sail away on a boat, while Shenoy deletes their files from RAW's database.

Tiger 3, directed by Maneesh Sharma, is set to release on Diwali 2023. The film will feature Tiger and Zoya facing a new enemy, played by Emraan Hashmi. The film will also have a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan, another spy character from the YRF Spy Universe.
