Is the prm_binlog_parser a requirement? If not, what are the benefits of using it vs. not using it?

Hi Carmen,
no, the latest agent use the mysbinlog tool and some bash code to replace the binlog_parser.  The benefits are when the master has a hard crash, the slave the most advanced binlog will be promoted and give the map of its binlog with the hash of the trx payload so that the other slaves can resync cleanly.

Regards,

Yves
