Autodesk bought eagle in 2017, and in 2021 they offered 3.9 Billion to take over altium =autodesk+altium+bid&ia=web Anyone with more then two braincells would have some inkling of what they thought of that Eagle thing they had bought a few years earlier. It either did not meet expectations, or they only bought it for access to the eagle users in the first place.
autodesk has ha long history of buying out competitors and letting their software die. Sometimes they take out some good parts and put it in their own software. autodesk does not give a hoot about their customers, they only care about their profits. Take for example fusion360. They abused their free pool of beta testers for years, and as soon as that software became stable and usable enough they started cutting out the things that made it interesting for a lot of people such as the CAM generator and file import / export.
I personally hated eagle, (as well as kicad) I was forced to use it as a freelancer as thats what some of my clients used. Now I use Diptrace for schematic and pcb. if my clients dont like it, sorry, Im to old for this now, dont use me then
To create a new project for a printed circuit board, start by right-clicking on the "eagle" and selecting "New Project". Then you will have to download a "Compass.pcb" from the options listed below and save it in Documents\Eagle\ex-Compass. If files are still not appearing in the Control Panel, simply hit "F5" to refresh and they should pop out.
