Hi all

Myself and a Friend worked on a 3D Printed Design for the Mini PIR Sensor (http://ha.privateeyepi.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=61&product_id=59)

Goal was to have a Good looking "corner" wall mount that would have space for a Indicator LED (3mm) as well as have enough space for some Transistors for switching the LED and to the Raspberry PI or Wireless Transmitter.

You can get the 3D Print Design here : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1462605

i think it turned out pretty well :-) , i just need to paint it now to match walls :-)

Some Pics Attached - Enjoy

Thx
Greg

Looks great Greg. We have been looking for motion sensors cases for some time. Ideally what we want is a slightly bigger case that can house the motion sensor, RF transmitter and 4 AA batteries.

Thanks for sharing Greg. I modified the design slightly and made the "depth" around 7cm - I need to put AA, 9V battery and Wireless receiver in there.
Just ordered a 3D print, they charged me 5 euro's :) Will share the result with pictures and modified .stl as soon as I picked it up.

Look forward to seeing pictures of it. What service are you using to print the case? I'd like to try it as well.

The print was successful but I made a mistake in resizing the original design, the motion sensor ended up to deep in the casing. Ill create a new change to the design and have it printed. I used https://www.3dhubs.com to find a local 3D printer.

Please post pictures of the larger case. Meanwhile I printed my own case using Greg's model:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1462605

I used www.sculpteo.com to print the case. US$15 including shipping.

Here is how it turned out in white:

Below is a picture of the motion sensor in the 3D printed case with a red LED that shows when activity is detected. The motion sensor is attached to an RF transmitter which transmits ON/OFF messages. I used the same wiring as this tutorial. I put the NPN2222A transister in the RF module case as well as a 3V converter that converts the 6V battery input to 3.3V for the RF transmitter. In order to creatwe some space in the RF module I removed the battery clip which is no longer needed as the device gets power from the external batteries.

I am using the One Button firmware and a 1M resistor to reduce battery consumption from the RF module. I'll monitor the battery life, but am hoping to get a few months lifetime.

Now we really need to find a case that can house all the components in one!
