Cannot connect to temperature sensor

I just received a Temperature sensor.

The sensor's wifi SSID is flaky. Sometimes it is visible from my macbook. Other times, it is not. When I try to connect, it fails.

I am using the password PrivateEyePi. The one time I did see the SSID and was able to get to a connection, screen, the connection failed.

What could I do more?

I was trying to use a 5G wifi network. Evidently the device only supports 2.4G. Thank you for your help!

(The SSID broadcast for the temperature sensor is still flaky, but I can specify the SSID explicitly and connect every time using 2.4G.)
