Hi all

Been testing out a PUSH notification system called PUSHOVER (www.pushover.net) to send Alarm Notifications to my Mobile and i though i would share as i find it pretty useful.

I prefer it to Emails as it PUSHES you the alert instead of some email systems that rely on a Pull form the Server (Think APPLE/ANDROID pop up APP Notifications)

Its available for IOS/Android/Apple-watch/Desktop etc ..  and some other platforms , it does come at a one time cost of  $5 (per receiving device OS type)  , and they do offer a 7 day trial to check it out ...

they offer many ways (API/Scripts?Email) to send the alerts and then you subscribe your devices to a "channel" and all devices that are Subscribed will receive the PUSH alerts

The easiest way to integrate it to PRIVATEEYEPI is via the email Gateway option , they give you a unique email address that you add to your Alarm dashboard and any email sent to this unique Address will be PUSHED to your subscribed devices

Pretty Slick i think :-) and it has native Integration into may existing apps like IFTTT or CouchPotato - https://pushover.net/apps

Enjoy

Cheers
Greg

Ps .. maybe one day GadjetNut will add a Pushover API/Scripted option to his code so we Don't need to use the Email gateway option..Hint Hint !! :-)

PPS .. Disclaimer - i am in NO way affiliated to Pushover , i just thought it was cool and useful.

Thanks Greg, will check that out. Twilio seems to get quite a lot of publicity for SMS. Have you had any exposure to it?

I really like this idea. Is there any way to get the email field in the settings on the website to accept the format used to customize the notification? I keep getting an error that the email isn't a valid format... The assress is
