This is for my grand parents. I want to make a wrist wearable band for them and whenever they are in trouble they can press this button. This will trigger an alarm "speaker so anyone else in the house can hear" and notify others via phone.

Any suggestion on hardware module smaller than watch face, which upon press can send signal to raspberry pi wirelessly, which in turn will trigger alarm and send message to a web server.

Thanks in advance!

We have two panic button options:

2. this is normally used by alarm systems (and better looking) : https://www.privateeyepi.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=66&product_id=86

I ordered https://www.privateeyepi.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=66&product_id=86
What script I need to capture panic button press?
Also, how can I connect XRF base station (with slice of pi) and Decoding receiver board simultaneously to pi as both of them connect to overlapping gpio pins (1, 2 and pin 16)

Thanks

Hi,

For the 4 button remote you use the normal alarm.py script. Set it up like a door switch, and then define a rule that set off the alarm, or send and email, or sound the alarm etc.. whenever the switch is triggered.

The Slice of Pi gives you access to all pins on the Raspberry Pi. In fact the Slice of Pi has a small breakout area where you can build the circuit for the 4 button remote receiver.

Regards,

Jonathan
