IOT Gateway integration wth Home Assistant

I am new to both Home Assistant and JemRF products I have a JemRF wireless temperature sensor and a IOT Gateway connected to a Raspberry Pi 2. I have followed the documentation and set up the Pi2 with the Gateway and when I run  python serial_mon.py,  I see the Sensor reporting the correct information. Now I am trying to integrate that temperature information into Home Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi 4 running on the same network. This is where I am having difficulty and I may be interpreting the instructions incorrectly. I am following the instructions for Home Assistant Integration and using the Terminal Integration to access the command line and enter the commands. I can enter the commands and create required directories but they are not saved and when I reboot Home Assistant the are gone.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated
