Hi

Right now we have camera Motion triggering the Script to generate Alerts .. like Emailing a picture etc ...Good !

I was thinking of turning this on its head and doing a Alarm rules trigger to generate the recording event ??

let me explain my logic here , I have Many many false positives on camera motion even with tuning masks etc .. so i was thinking to rather have a reliable alarm sensor trigger the Camera event ...

Do you think think this is possible ?

even if we leave the current Motion software to record at will .. and then just pull the latest JPEG from the recorded events at a Alarm event .. pretty much exactly what is happening now with the current webcam software , all we would need is a rules based EVENT condition modification to allow for this ????

Thx
Greg

An "Email Photo" action is coming in the next release (upcoming days). It will send the latest photo in a specified directory. So you can have the motion (or some other) application put photos in that directory and then action the email photo based on a reliable event like door open or motion detected from a PIR sensor.

Another action in the next release will be the ability to switch a relay. This will allow you to switch things on/off based on temperature, door open/close, motion etc...

Regards,

Jonathan

The "Email photo" rule has been added. See the latest post on that.
