Attach a web cam picture to the alarm alert email

This is a preview to a project that will attach a picture to the alarm alert email using a regular web cam. We are testing different ways of detecting motion, so we have built a prototype motion detector camera.

 

The unit consists of a Model A Raspberry Pi ($35), Creative web cam ($20), case and mount ($5), PIR motion sensor ($8), SD Card ($10), power supply ($5), Wifi dongle ($10), IO connecter ($2)

 

So for under $100 we have a self contained alarm system that will detect motion, take pictures, attach pictures to email alerts and connect to the PrivateEyePi dashboard where you can control and configure your alarm system zones and locations, monitor alerts and activate/deactrivate the alarm from a mobile device.
