Hi everyone,

I'd like to reproduce some results from Adv. Energy Mater. 2022, 12, 2102283 and was wondering if I should try implementing the solid mechanics model based on applications in the  PRISMS-PF framework, or install PRISMS-Plasticity (if it has the capability already) to couple with PRISMS-PF. The documentation on Plasticity seems rather limited, so I wasn't sure where to start.  For your reference, the mechanical model I'm referencing is depicted in Fig. S2.

Hello, Andrew

Sorry for the late reply.

You might be able to implement the solid mechanics model based on applications in the PRISMS-PF (specifically, which equations of the supplemental information do you want to implement)?

Coupling PRISMS-PF and PRISMS-Plasticity is not trivial but we are working on an integrated framework at the moment. The plan is to release it next year.

Best,

David

Hi David,

Thanks for the response! The mechanics I'm interested in is shown on figure S2, or equations (S6)-(S10).

Best,
Andrew

Hi David,

Another related question I have regarding deformation is the projection method implemented in the smoothed boundary method paper (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1107.5341)
Do you have any recommendations on how to implement the projection method (F1-F4) in section F, where the viscosity parameter depends on the order parameter?

Best,
Andrew

Hello, Andrew

My apologies, I have been very busy this week.

I am not familiar with Kirkendall-effect-induced deformation or the projection method used to describe it numerically, so I will have to read about it before I suggest a way to implement it.

I will get back to you about this sometime next week.

Best,

David

Hi David,

Of course, no rush at all! Thanks for getting back to me.

Best,
Andrew
