Selection of parameters

Hi,everyone

In the case of alloy solidification, which literature did you choose the actual material parameters from? In addition, the interface width parameter is not given, but this parameter is closely related to the calculation of lamda. What is the basis for your selection of the interface width?

Any guidance on this would be highly appreciated!

Some (not all) of the parameters were chosen from this paper:

Yao, Montiel, and Allison, Investigating the Effects of Dendrite Evolution on Microsegregation in Al–Cu Alloys by Coupling Experiments, Micro-modeling, and Phase-Field Simulations. Metall Mater Trans A 53, 3341–3356 (2022)

The parameters that are not the same from the paper were adjusted in order to obtain a primary dendrite with secondary branches within a small system. 

Lambda (and the interface width) were chosen to be just small enough to obtain a nearly converged solution.
