Hello, everyone

We invite you all to provide feedback on Material Core (MatCore), an emerging metadata
standard for materials datasets generated using computational materials science (CMS) methods. MatCore is being developed by leaders in the CMS community as part of a U.S. National Science Foundation supported effort. The standard is designed to represent key aspects of a material-focused computation to make it findable and understandable to
the broad materials research community.

The standard consists of required minimal metadata universal across all CMS domains, and method-specific metadata for a number of supported methodologies (density functional theory, many-body perturbation theory, molecular dynamics, machine learning, phase field, and derived properties). Additional methods may be added in the future.

We would greatly appreciate your help in ensuring that the proposed standard meets the CMS community's needs (you can choose to submit feedback on phase-field and/or any of the other supported methodologies mentioned above). To submit your feedback, go to the MatCore website and click the "Submit Feedback on the Standard" button. The deadline for submitting feedback is 30-May-2026.

Thank you!

David
