Hello team,

I am trying to apply cyclic tensile-tensile loading conditions using PRISMS-plasticity Neumann BCs to apply traction (load) on my RVE. However, when i plot the stress-strain curve after running the simulation, the stress values are showing negative at some points. But i used only positive load values in the Neumann BCs. Can you suggest some points where i should take a look?

Sincerely,
Gazi

Hello,

I have attached the associated simulation files and the output stress strain file as well for your reference.

Sincerely,
Gazi

Hi Gazi,

It looks like you kept old Tabular Time Neumann BCs but changed time increments and total time, where time increments and total time are higher than Neumann time intervals.  In attached prm file I changed set Tabular Time Neumann BCs = 0,10.0,30.0 arbitrarily from set Tabular Time Neumann BCs = 0,0.025,0.05, which seems to give reasonable output.
You can correct either set Tabular Time Neumann BCs/Total time  and Time increments  according to your simulation set-up requirements.

Regards,
Chaitali
