Dear, Muthanna

I myself do not have much experience in using DREAM.3D to generate synthetic microstructures from EBSD scans.

However, I am cc'ing some people who might be able to help, as well as the Prisms-Plasticity Google group

Finally, there is a dedicated DREAM.3D message board. Someone from that group also might be able to help.

Best,

David

Dear PRISMS-PF Community ,
I’m facing some challenges in generating a synthetic 3D microstructure from a single 2D EBSD scan. I have one EBSD scan in .ctf format, and my idea is to use the scanned top surface as a reference, then generate a synthetic grain structure beneath it.
Do you think this approach is feasible? If so, would you be willing to provide any guidance or a sample DREAM.3D pipeline that might help with this process?

Kind regards,

Muthanna Kareem
