According to the Google Play Store, to test other developers' applications, it is mandatory to be in the Google group that has been added to their closed tests. Therefore, this group authorizes you to test applications from developers who have added the Google group to their closed tests. Joining this group is mandatory to test applications.

Sometimes, even after joining this group, you may see an "Item Not Found" error. This means that the email address you used to join this group is different from the email address used on the Play Store. In this case, try changing the primary account on the Play Store to this email address, or try joining the Google group with your primary email address.
