Hello!

As beta testers for Print Wizard 4, you get a first look at price and
policy changes. Here are the plans:

1) There will no longer be a library/educational discount on Print
Wizard.

2) Every license will cover a maximum number of "output units". What
is new is that fax will count as one, and PDF generation will count as
one. Thus an SE3 license will support up to three output units,
meaning a total
of 3 fax, PDF, and printers.

3) Some new levels have been created, at SE20 and SE50. SE (that is,
unlimited) will be equivalent to SE100 for pricing purposes.

4) For purchases of Print Wizard 3 made on or after July 1, 2010, a
free update will be available, until the end of 2010. However, users
updating will be subject to the new license restrictions as in item 2.

5) Updates in general are 50% of new price, with new restrictions.

6) It continues to be true that every PC needs a license.

7) PE is not eligible to run on "Service" (formerly "Server")
editions, that is, 2003 Server, 2008 Server, and SBS (Small Business
Server).

8) The previous volume discount scheme has been discontinued. It will
be replaced by a system based on total "output units" as defined in
item 2. A discount calculator will soon be posted on the website.

9) Undiscounted price points are as follows:

Produce Output units Price
=================================
PE 3 $120
SE3 3 $300
SE6 6 $600
SE10 10 $1000
SE20 20 $2000
SE50 50 $5000
SE 100 $10000

Note that volume discounts will kick in at one purchase of SE10.

10) Each price point will include a certain amount of bundled support,
not yet determined, which must be used within 60 days of purchase.
Additional support will be chargeable.

11) Old versions will be available, at new pricing/policies.

Please let me know ASAP if there are any problems with any of this.

The website is being updated, the installer is being built, the manual
is being updated, etc. We expect to roll this over this week sometime.

1) How/Where are these output units defined within PW. Is there a
place where I choose my output devices that will show up. I assume
this beta is not restricted on the output units.

2) On the SE3 version are there only 3 printers listed in the printing
tab/section and 6 in the SE6, etc?

3) So I can set up as many profile as I need but only send them to 3
defined outputs on a SE3 license.

4) If you purchase a SE3 can it be upgraded to a SE6 or greater with
just paying the difference?

5) Any discount for beta testers if we purchase now?

At current these are license restrictions only; that is, they are not
enforced. We hope to add this shortly.

Not sure yet.

Yes; there are no limits on profiles, services, queues, etc.

Yes.

If you buy any PE(s) now, you get it (them) for the old price, subject
to the new restrictions.
