The idea of auto-switching between profiles is attractive. I think of that
as "job differentiation". We have some plans for the future on this. For
now, we have only one way to do this:
AUTO PROFILES
A profile is a set of parameters that direct the output of a particular
job. If you launch printwiz.exe with a command line, you can specify a
profile to be used, using a command line parameter. If you use a service
to receive jobs, the service (or the specific queue within the LPD
service) can be tied to a certain profile.
With the LPD service, we also get an additional piece of information: the
document name. This is (or can be) provided by whatever generates the
print job. We can make the LPD service react to that.
If you create a profile named "AUTO", and use an LPD service, that service
will examine the document name. If it finds a profile with the same name,
it will switch to using that profile instead; if not, it will stick with
the AUTO profile.

What you're talking about is a "despool service". This service watches a
particular disk/folder/wildcard location, and when a file appears there,
and is finished (closed by the generating application), the service will
copy it to a temporary location, print it, and delete the original (so it
doesn't get printed again).
We have another option which is "FTPdespool", which does the same thing
via FTP. The tricky part here is that the server's FTP may not let us
delete the file.
Note that if you intend to run a service, you will need to license the
Server Edition of Print Wizard.
