Hello, solar car enthusiasts!
In two days, we will begin our drive down to Austin, TX for the 2015 Formula Sun Grand Prix at the COTA Formula One track. We will be racing our car Ra 7s, as our current car Ra 9 will soon be on its way to Australia for the World Solar Challenge in October.
We are super excited to have three brand new team members joining us for their first rayce! Fiona Waller is a sophomore chemistry and computer science double major who is most excited about bonding with the team and learning how to do a fast tire change. Adelainee Biang, a sophomore chemistry major, loves solar car because of the opportunity to try new things. Nicole Gerber a sophomore computer science major will be joining our mechanical team as the apprentice in training.
We have been busy this week practicing tire changes and driver egress, as well as driver and electrical testing. We are super excited for the rayce next week and will be posting our progress every day. Be sure to follow us on Instagram (@prinsolar), Twitter (@prinsolar), Facebook (Principia Solar Car) and our website www.principiasolarcar.com. You can also tune in to Principia Internet Radio at 8pm central for live updates from the track.
We appreciate all your support!
Until tomorrow,
Annika
