G'day mates!
Today was a great second day of racing. Hayley started out in the car taking off from our landing spot at 446 km. We took the day slow, targeting amp draw as opposed to a particular speed in order to help our battery pack recover a bit and build the pack back up.
We had to make a few stops early on to check electrical connections, but the theme of the day was slow and steady. We pulled into Dunmarra, the second checkpoint, just before noon and Jackson got in the car. After our required thirty minute stop, we pulled out and had a relatively uneventful afternoon ending the day having driven a WSC race total of 903 km., so far. This puts us 85 km outside Tennant Creek, our next stop!
We are currently camped on the side of the road, just over 10m back. The flies were pretty intense earlier, but gratefully sunset has shooed them away. We enjoyed Trey's pizza dinner and are looking forward to the beautiful stars that should be visible shortly.
Tomorrow we hope to make two checkpoints, Tennant Creek and Barrow Creek.
Until then,
Annika
