We should have a slight change in our work culture.
We should track staff by "Tasks Completion" and not by "the time they spend at Institution"
For Eg, Today few staffs asked me whether they can "leave for the day" at 3:10 pm.
Approach 1 : I could have said
"Madams you can leave early if your tasks are complete"
Approach 2: I could have said :
"Madams, you have to work till 3:40 pm as that is the working hours"
What is our requirement ?
"The tasks to be completed well in time with quality" or "Staff to spend time at Institution"
Advantages of Approach 1:
- Tasks are completed well in time with quality
- It is a profession approach.
- Staff will not come out with lame reasons for not completing the tasks.
Approach 2 :
- Olden days approach of Management
- Staff's approach towards us would be different. They will not murmur behind us.
PS : HODs/ Asst HODs can adopt approach 1 with ease, as they are aware of the "status of the tasks" of their team members
