FEAST OF 2012: Last year’s dinner drew a diverse crowd of students and Princeton residents to the tables at Scudder Plaza on campus.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Princeton residents are invited to join 500 students of Princeton University’s Forbes College and Whitman College for the best bargain in town: the second annual “Dîner Inn Blanc", celebrating local and seasonal foods and the community of the table.

But move fast: Registration begins at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, and at $5 a meal, these chairs will go fast, and when they’re full, you’re hungry.

Diners are asked to wear white, then mix it up with the students, many far from home and stressed from midterms -- all just waiting to be asked the origin and import of the word “inn” to the college.

Dîner Inn Blanc is a community potluck, with the main course served up from Princeton University’s Dining Services, the bread from Witherspoon Bread Company, gluten free/vegan offerings from Infini T Café and Souk, and ice cream flavored with rosemary from Princeton School gardens -- made especially for the dinner by the bent spoon.

Individual tickets are $5, with a maximum of $20 per family, 5 or more immediate family members (Additional $1.00 fee for credit card processing). To order tickets, call (609) 924-8018 and ask for Camille or Drew. The location and entry time will be revealed to ticket buyers via e-mail on the day of the Dîner. In case of rain, you will be notified via email on Tuesday, October 8. Community members will be issued a rain check voucher for a complementary $5 lunch in the Forbes College Dining Room.

Corner House and Princeton School Gardens Cooperative are Princeton University’s community partners in this event. Proceeds from the sale of public tickets will be shared by the two non-profits.
