APIAVOTE IS HIRING:

COMMUNICATION AND DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE: 

APIAVote is hiring for a candidate who is detailed oriented and has some experience in communications and fundraising.  This is a full time permanent position with a competitive compensation and benefits package.

LOCATION: For immediate hire in Washington, DC.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 13, 2015 or until filled

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for working with the Executive Director and the board in raising the organization’s annual budget
  • Manage grants from our corporate sponsors and foundations
  • Implement an online-giving campaigns
  • Responsible for organizing regional fundraising receptions
  • Draft donor correspondence, including solicitation and acknowledgment letters as needed and manage the timely acknowledgement of all contributions. Compile letters, informational packets, and related materials in response to donor inquiries.
  • Research and identify prospective foundation funders, major donors, and corporate sponsors; follow fundraising-related news, research, trends, and best practices.
  • Develop an individual donor program and manage development-related record keeping
  • Manage record-keeping on programmatic activities and achievements for use in reports to stakeholders.   
  • Implement various communication strategies to support donor cultivation and ensure APIAVote stakeholders are updated on our activities, priorities and needs. 
  • Responsible for writing press releases, editorials, and reports
  • Support the executive director in the organization’s work and relationship with the media
  • Assists in identifying and creating marketing materials for inclusion in prospect
  • Ability to update the website and social media tools
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned.
