PrinceCon XL
March 13-15, 2015
The Wyrd Sisters have spoken of the Destiny of the Gods: the time when all barriers would be broken, Ratri would be freed, and the gods’ ancient foes would march on Valor Hall to the ruin of all.

Through the long years we have waited, the army of the gods to counter the army of the giants.  In life, all of us were great heroes, worthy of selection to Valor Hall.  In this afterlife, we have grown soft, our skills slowly eroded by too much food and drink, too many nights spent carousing.  We are not ready.

But those of us who have remained alert have sensed it, and those who would heed the lines of prophecy can see that the twilight of the gods is drawing nigh.  We must prepare ourselves, and rouse our fellow Valiant to the defense of this world.
The Simulation Games Union’s annual convention is a 46-hour marathon of tabletop roleplaying in a shared world, centered around a common goal. Rules are a variation of the Open-Gaming version (3.5SRD) of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, incorporating many ideas developed over the years by the SGU. Certificates are awarded for Strategic, Tactical and Role Playing excellence.

Looks like we are in an afterlife situation. Anyone want to play an entire family line stretching back into the founding of the world? Hrulf, Hrulfson, Hrulfsonson, Hrulfsonsonson, etc ?

Hurlf, Hurlf II, Hurlf III, Hurlf V... We're not really sure what happened to Hurlf IV...
It's like the chicken prank!

Due to time travel accident, Hurlf II and Hurlf IX are the same person...

So, how long are each of the ages? I really like this "Hrulf heroes through the ages family line sorta thing" and think people should start calling dibs on their favorite numbers, but I'm trying to figure out how many generations per age for rough 'cut-offs' in the family line.

Also, it seems like the most sense for them to be Mannfolk, if they've been around since the Dawn of Time, but I figure, you could really justify playing any race as one of the Hrulf's. Intermarriage, adoption, or magical mishaps could easily explain any race you want.

Heck, the Riddari and Vatenari are already descended from humans, so no problems there.

It hasn't been specified, but my gut answer would be a thousand years.
Maybe you should seek a better one. :)

Svartalfar are the other race whose members have been raised to Valor
Hall in all the Ages.

Thanks,
Aaron

How do the Svartalfar compare life-span wise to Mannfolk?

What about the Alfar? Didn't they come to the Hall of Valor when Danu and Carrunos first came to Godsheim in the Age of the Axe? I would have thought representatives of the Alfar were present through all the Ages... although I'm not sure what happened in the Wind Age.. and how that tweaked the souls in Valar Hall... did they somehow leave with Danu and Carrunos? Or maybe.. did some of them leave?

It says the Alfar aren't gone after they moved, so I think they do still appear in the last two ages as they are still active.

I'm not so sure about that. According to Steve's spreadsheet.. there are no Alfar in the last 2 ages... Hopefully this will be verified.

The alphar still exist in the recent ages but as they only worship Danu and Carrunos, they are not elevated to Valor Hall no matter how many heroic deeds they perform or how they die.

So as an Alfar.. you can ONLY be a cleric/worshiper of Danu or Carrunos? I don't remember reading this anywhere in the conbook. Wow. That's even more extreme than the Katterfolk not worshiping Carrunos limitation.

Alfar worshipped the entire Pantheon up until the Riven Shield Age.  Then there was that famous argument involving Carrunos, Danu, Hione and Ratri.  Danu and Carrunos left the pantheon and started living in Alfheim.  So any Valiant living in Valor Hall must be from before the schism.  That is they must be from a time when everyone was together and alfar could worship any of the gods; The three ages the PC alfar can be from are The Axe Age, The Sword Age and the Riven Shield Age.  I hope that helps explain it.
