I have had this little tutorial; How To Make Magnetic Dress Up Dolls in my mind for a while, thus have created a set of dress up dolls with a free dress up dolls template to cut out. Or you could cut them on Magnetic sheets or sticker paper for a great rainy day or travel activity.

The beauty of Cricut Design Space is that there are lots of blank canvases for such projects, its just a matter of having a little vision and knowing how to use the slice, group and flatten tools. And you can make you self a full set of unique magnetic travel dolls for all seasons. Or you can just cut and print my little set here and keep your eyes peeled for my seasonal updates.

Alternatively you can download my free dress up dolls template in pdf and cut out by hand, or upload the png files to Cricut Design Space. Read the instructions for help downloading to Cricut Design Space.

In design space click images and type in doll, scroll through until you find a doll you like. The doll I have chosen is part of a full set you just have to hunt to find them all. However there are lots of alternatives, and boy sets too.

Ensure your printer is compatible for print and cut. I use the HP ENVY 5020 Multifunctional Printer which is an inexpensive printer but has worked with print and cut vinyl, stickers and magnetic paper.

If you are like me and like to make your own projects rather than using a template, follow these easy steps or watch the vlog below for step by step instructions.

In design space click images and type in doll, scroll through until you find a doll you like. The doll I have chosen is part of a full set you just have to hunt to find them all. However there are lots of alternatives, and boy sets too.
Next highlight and ungroup the image. You then need to look at the right hand panel and uncheck the closed eyes of the images you want.

I chose the girl, rubber ring and goggles. You now have separate images to print and cut on magnetic paper for your diy magnetic paper dolls and can delete the unwanted images.

Now go back into images and search for a dress for your magnetic paper dolls. You can choose any dress, even if it is not a print and cut file.

If it is a cut file, ungroup remove any parts you do not require. In this case the dress stand.

Once you are happy with your image, highlight and click flatten( bottom right hand corner). This will turn the image into a print and cut file.

You now have a printable doll and 2 outfits. I made a set of 4 dolls with lots of outfits including dress up, swimwear, sportswear, day, night and graduation outfits.

My daughter got a My Generation doll for Christmas and has been begging for matching clothes for her and her baby. There are some really cute matching outfits out there but they are just so expensive! I decided why not just make my own! I bought the doll outfit with the white shirt and jeans at Joanns. I also got a plain white shirt from Walmart. She was so excited to have a Momma-made matching shirt with her baby doll.

I found the Best Friends rainbow in Design space. It comes all grouped together. I ungrouped the whole thing. I then selected the parts that would be on just one t-shirt (Best). I grouped these parts together. I did the same for the other shirt (Friends).

I had a bunch of left over glitter iron-on vinyl from a previous project so I decided to make all the different parts of the design different colors of glitter iron-on. Remember when working with iron-on you need to mirror your image and put the vinyl shiny side down. Glitter iron-on is much thicker than regular iron-on. You will want to make sure that you select glitter iron-on for your material to be sure that the Cricut will cut it correctly.

I used my Easy Press to heat transfer the iron-on onto the shirts piece by piece. I like to lay it all out on top of each other first to make sure the placement is correct and then carefully do one at a time as to not move the original spot.

Shortly after the Cricut Maker launch I was gathered with my cousins and all of our children, and I got to play dolls with my little cousins. I noticed that they loved changing the dolls clothing, and the set of dolls that had more outfits got played with the most. The idea struck to make them a set of clothes for each girl to have. I was so excited to sew girly things!

Start with fabric. If you use the Cricut fabric sets they come precut to fit perfectly on the mat. If you are using fabric from your own supply, I highly recommend the new rotary cutter and mat set to cut your fabric to fit the cricut cutting mat. It makes cutting fabric so easy, no math involved!

The Simplicity patterns are already loaded into Design Space (the links I shared above open straight to the pattern page). Make sure to select the material that you are cutting, load the fabric pen, and start cutting.

Thats ok! I think Cricut design space has changed their files around a bit. It should be in their files under sewing, or projects for the Maker. Let me see if I can find it and I will update the post.

I found this baseball graphic in the Cricut Design catalog. When I choose a design for a graphic tee for a doll, I look for bold designs with simple details. Fewer colors is a plus as well. If the letters are thin, they may be too hard to read or get messed up in weeding because it is such a small size.

In addition to my cricut machines, I also own two Cameo machines. The results will be the same, no matter which machine you own or use. The Silhouette software works very much the same, and you need to mirror your HTV designs as well. Have fun creating a new doll wardrobe with your choice of fun graphics!

When I was looking through the images in Cricut Design Space, the idea struck me! I could make felt dolls with clothes. I had a little tin that paper flowers came in. I thought if I put the pieces in that, a little girl could take it with her and play when she needs a quiet activity.

The Cricut Maker made this room redo a breeze. From 3D art to home decor, jewelry, iron-on, vinyl, paper projects, and so much more the Cricut Maker is foolproof. It can cut 300+ materials quickly and accurately, from the most delicate paper and fabric to the tough stuff like matboard and leather just by changing out the blades. On top of cutting, the Cricut Maker has a wide range of additional tools available for scoring, engraving, debossing, and adding other decorative effects.

We are going to take this dollhouse redo, one room at a time. And because this is my first time working with a lot of these materials, I really wanted to tackle a space that would be easy, so bathroom it is.

One of the very first projects I ever did with a Cricut was to make flowers. The Design Space app has so many beautiful flowers and plant projects already loaded that resizing was the only thing I needed to do. Both the free standing plant as well as the art palm turned out exactly as I expected using only the blade that came with the machine and the scouring wheel to make the creases more defined.

A lot of the design of this room was based on what I thought would be easier to recreate. Since a lot of the paper available has beautiful texture, I knew I wanted light fixtures with shades. These shades are literally just rectangles cut very precisely and then glued to create the shade. So thankful for the Cricut Maker because scissors would be hard to use for these intricate details. And I already have an idea for the next set of shades I make.

Using the Design Space app to create these was such a breeze. The fonts and prints were already in the very expansive library and all I needed to do was resize everything to fit my scale of canvas found at craft stores. How perfect are these for the bathroom? The palm leaf was inspired by THIS.

My boyfriend wants to get me a laser cutter or Cricut for Christmas...i've been researching the differences for months but am still a little uncertain as to what would be my most compatible option with the best results. I understand the difference in operation & already know that if I were to go with the cricut, it'd have to be the maker 3 as this is the first one with enough pressure to be able to cut through balsa wood (the main thing I'd want to do with it). But have been having a harder time figuring out which option will yield the best/most accurate results when it comes to finesse in the details of cutting things out for miniatures...

-i like the idea of being able to scan in my own drawings with the Brother scan-n-cut, but as long as the program can import images, I've read reviews saying the brother's scan feature kinda comes up low quality resolution & the touch screen is small so that it makes it hard to do minute adjustments with it
