  1. Select a .JPEG file from your computer or mobile device and upload it to your application.

We need you to upload a new photo that has a higher resolution, is not grainy or pixelated, and is not compressed. Compression means the file size is too small with respect to the pixel dimensions. A photo may become compressed if it is edited after it is taken. Improve the resolution of your photo by changing the settings on your camera.

When saving and emailing your photo, select the highest quality setting (large file size). Do not edit or digitally manipulate your photo. To avoid compressing your image, do not send the image via text message.

We need you to upload a new photo because the size and positioning of your head is not acceptable for a passport. If the person taking your photo is standing too close or too far away, your head may take up too much or too little of the photo.

Please make sure there is lots of space around your head and shoulders when you upload your photo. Our photo tool will crop your photo into the correct dimensions. Do not upload a 2 inch by 2 inch photo.

This message means your photo may be blurry or out of focus. Your photo may have a low resolution and file size, or it may be grainy and pixelated, and lack clarity. Please upload a new photo with a larger file size and resolution.

Learn how to use the ColorChecker Passport Photo for Perfect Color. In this video, I walk through the why and how to use the ColorChecker Passport in camera as well as in Lightroom and Final Cut Pro. I have had the ColorChecker Passport in my camera bag for years. I have the original Passport model, but they have since released a 2nd version as well as a Video version. I have not tried those yet. As someone with slight colorblindness, I rely heavily on the ColorChecker as well as my monitor calibration tool, also from X-Rite.

Please let me know if this information helps you resolve the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution", this will help others easily find the information they may be looking for. Also, clicking the Thumbs up below is a great way to say thanks!

It appears that we are using different versions of HP Photo Creations. My version (which I downloaded from the HP website yesterday) does not have the options which you have specified below. If they are there I have been unable to find them.

However, by playing with the Image Size and Image Scaling controls on the printing control panel, you can get close to a specific size. The screenshots below show a couple of options.

"Playing with the Image Size and Image Scaling controls" to get something which may or may not be the right size sounds as though it will be wasteful in time and photo paper.

I'm afraid my reply was too hasty. The point I was trying to make is that a passport photo is a specialized document with numerous requirements beyond the basic dimensions. For example, the UK lists more than 20 additional rules, ranging from background color to head size:

  • Fill out our primary application forms using our Form Filler.
  • For the best experience, use a desktop or laptop computer when filling out your form.
  • Check the information you entered for your date of birth and previous passport issuance date if you did not get the form you expected to receive.
  • If you are experiencing technical issues with our Form Filler, download a PDF and complete your form by hand.
  • Visit the webpage of the U.S. embassy or consulate if you are applying for a U.S. passport while in a foreign country.

Photos for passports, identity cards and driving licences must meet certain requirements. There are rules about size, quality, background, facial appearance, position, expression, glasses, lighting and framing.

If you keep your head covered because of your religion or belief, then you may keep your head covering on for your photo. The head covering must be plain, in one colour only, and must also contrast with the background.

You may not be able to comply with all the requirements for physical or medical reasons. If it has any doubts, the organisation issuing the travel document or identity document has the right to ask you to provide a medical certificate as proof.

I have a Pixma Pro 100 and I'm trying to print photo ID / passport Pics. 2"X2" My recently downloaded version of Canon Easy Photoprint EX does not have an option for this type of photo. However, on YouTube there are videos of the same software showing "ID Photos" Has it been removed or renamed? Please advise...

I wonder if someone could tell me how to create the size 45mm H x 35mm W for UK passport photos. Then print them. I need to know for the Windows version and the IPad version. I am pretty much a beginner in Affinity Photo.

Once you have your photo sized correctly within the app (45mm X 35mm) use File > Print. On the Layout section, change the Model to N-Up and then set the Across and Down as required or something similar to the attached screenshot (based on A4 paper).

The iPad versions of Affinity uses the print interface built into iPadOS and it's very limited, I'd recommend exporting your image from Photo as the correct size. The most new wifi printers will have an iPadOS app available, use this to load your image and it should provide a lot more printer options.

If your only purpose in acquiring Affinity Photo is to print Passport Photos then I would have to agree with you. Is that really the only use you would make of this extremely comprehensive (and growing in comprehension) application?

Long-time user of Serif products, chiefly PagePlus and PhotoPlus, but also WebPlus, CraftArtistProfessional and DrawPlus. Delighted to be using Affinity Designer, Photo, and now Publisher, version 1 and now version 2.

I would like to store things (like a photo of my passport) on 1Password, but I can't seem to find instructions on how to do this. The "Link Items" support page says you can do things like link a photo of your passport to " the Passport item you have already saved." I'm not sure what this means. What is a Passport item? How do I upload a photo of my passport into 1Password? What about other files (like scanned insurance cards)? Can someone point me to instructions on how to do this? Thank you!

Thanks, but I don't have Passport on the list. I only see Login, Secure Note, Credit Card, Identity, Password (in that order). That's on my desktop app. Similarly, on my Chrome extension, I see the same list except for Secure Note, plus I see the Password generator. The app claims it is up to date (7.6.793).

My boyfriend's passport is about 6 years old now but in my opinion he only vaguely resembles the photo that is in his passport (thankfully he looks wwaaayyy better! ) It's not just that it's a bad photo either!

Yes. My passport photo was taken when I was 19. I'm now 27. The photo looks like a younger version of me if you look REALLY hard. I've never had a problem with it. Remember that immigration officials are trained to check these things.

the photo on my last passport was from when i was 17 and by the time i reached my early twenties i looked nothing like this picture. i had a completely different hairstyle which also made my face shape look different so i could easily have been a different person. i travelled alot on that passport and i had no problems but when i was leaving Malaysia an immigration official did comment in a lighthearted way that it looked nothing like me! as mikeyboab says, officials are trained to be able to recognise these kinds of things so you should be fine.

Sorry to do a negative post but I have encountered problems and it was scary. I looked nothing like my passport photo when i went travelling in the USA-whilst there the tour I was on made a a trip down to Tijuana and on the way back across the border into america I was stopped-the lady did not believe the passport was me. (to paint more of a picture of how scared i was we had previously been warned by our tour company that people often get stopped in Tijuana-the tour company are powerless to help so if we got stopped we had to make our own way to the embassy in Tijuana) Five minutes of arguing it was me to both her and her supervisor, showing her other forms of id that I had with me, pointing out the age of the passport etc and thankfully they let me through. It was one of my scariest moments whilst travelling. The week I returned home I had ordered a new passport!!
